The 3-day engagement was designed to review the State Action Plan I (SAP 1) of the OGP in Plateau State. It was learned that Plateau State performed creditably well in the first phase.
The OGP is a convergence point for government and Civil Society Organizations, CSOs with the view to encouraging citizens participation in decision making and governance, amongst others.
This engagement also set in motion the design and developmentof a State Action Plan II (SAP II) that is expected to run for the next two years.
Under various thematic areas like Peace, Land Administration and Security; Extractive Industries and Digital Governance; etc. the SAP II will come up with various commitments and activities that would speak directly to the thematic areas in order to improve governance and service delivery to the good people of Plateau State.
It is indeed heartwarming to note that the DG, PPBA will be Co-chairing the Peace, Land Administration and Security Technical Working Group (TWG) along with a seasoned CSO personality, Hajiya Fatima Binta Suleiman (ICIN). This TWG comprised of other notable government establishments and CSOs.
This thematic area is vested with the responsibility of co-creating the enabling environment through legislative engagement and other activities to ensure the realization of the passage and operationalization of the Peace and Security Trust Fund inherited from SAPI, amongst others.
