Indeed, mainstreaming gender into conflict prevention and peacebuilding is key in PPBA. This is because we consider women in particular and, our youthful population as strategic resources in transforming the conflict landscape in Plateau State.
It is against this background that we recently engaged with women from Kwall District, Irigwe Chiefdom of Bassa LGA. The one-day engagement provided the platform for us and the community to address the growing tension in Kwall and some other parts of the chiefdom while looking closely at their contributions in the implementation of the Expression of Commitment to Peace agreement signed in 2022 between Irigwe and Fulani.
PPBA salutes the courage of the womenfolk in Plateau State for their role in restoring peace and stability in troubled communities across Plateau State. Together, we will build a Plateau at peace with itself and the rest of the world.
