Since the creation of the Plateau Peace Building Agency (PPBA) 5 years ago as a dedicated institutional structure for conflict prevention and peace building, the Agency has adopted a wide range of strategies to promote the ideals of sustainable peace across the state. One of the pathways the Agency seeks to deliver on its statutory mandate is through sustained research, robust coordination, systematic documentation and strategic partnership.
Against this backdrop, staff development through training and retraining has been at the core of the Agency’s operational policies. It is in view of the foregoing that the Research Team of the Agency organized a two-day capacity building training for staff and management on ‘Promoting the ideals of sustainable peace through research, robust coordination and strategic partnership’ on the 28th & 29th April, 2021. The objective of the training was to further strengthen staff capacity to effectively deliver on the Agency’s statutory mandate of conflict prevention and peace building. The training was one among a series of ongoing staff capacity building activities under the GIZ Peacecore project, which also aligns with the Agency’s 5-Year Strategic Plan Document
