The United States Institute of Peace, USIP Nigeria Network of Facilitators, NNF and the PPBA has, in the last few weeks, engaged communities in Mangu LGA as part of deliberate efforts at addressing the recent violence that engulfed some areas within the locality and other neighbouring communities.
The systematic facilitated multi-layered dialogue sessions started with the Hausa Community, then Fulani Community and; the Mwaghavul Community respectively.
It then culminated in an inter-dialogue session where stakeholders from all the aforementioned communities including Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Jama'atul Nasril Islam (JNI) were represented.
It is indeed heartwarming to see these communities displaying uncommon resolve to chart a new course for themselves where mutual respect, understanding, tolerance and resilience would guide their conduct in resolving issues of conflict amongst them, moving forward. Our gratitude goes to the Plateau State government and USIP-NNF for the support in this regard.
